Jeremy was helping to get the planes ready to race.
Emma and her buddy Shay enjoyed hanging around the dessert table. They loved the water cups and kept asking for more.Tuesday night we had the yearly cub scout derby. This year our cubmaster decided to do a Space Derby, rather than the traditional pinewood derby. Ethan worked really hard on his rocket. He painted it dark with spirals and stars and named it "The Milky Way". We gave out awards first, then it was time for the races. We had a bit of technical difficulties with the rockets. They have a winding propeller that had to be wound 150 times and pieces kept falling off. You race them along 40 feet of fishing line and it was hard to get them hooked up right. We never actually had a real "race" between rockets since no one could get them to fly quite right. The boys however, had a great time anyway and were proud of their creations. Next year...back to the normal old pinewood derby!
