Ethan won first place at the science fair this year! He won in the 4th grade category. (Although I think that his was much better than most of the 7th and 8th graders.) At his school, you can participate once you are in 4th grade. He was so excited to finally be old enough. He worked hard on his project "What can make ice water colder?" He added table salt, rock salt, baking soda, borax, and sugar to different cups of ice water to see which one would be the coldest. They were supposed to start with a question, then use the scientific method to find the answer. In case you were wondering, the rock salt made the water the coldest. But we were also surprised that baking soda made it much colder as well. Great job Ethan, we're proud of you!!
